No Stone Left Unturned

Dear Bridget, Sophie and Chris

I just wanted to drop you a line to say what an amazing time was had by everyone at David and Anca’s wedding on Saturday.

It was so nice to meet and speak with you all. The venue is absolutely stunning, presented beautifully and the attention to detail was so apparent everywhere you looked. It was very clear that no stone had been left unturned. Add to that Chris’s professionalism and dedication to ensuring the capture of the best footage of the day and you quite simply provide the perfect package!

I would like to say a massive thank you to you all for making my job so easy and enjoyable. I have been a Toastmaster for 12 years and rarely have I encountered such a warm welcome from the hosts.

I sincerely hope to see you all again soon.

Where To Start?!

Our perfect day - 26/06/2021

Where to start on our wedding story? Like many others during the pandemic we should have been married last year. However, at the time we were with another venue which fell through. They were far from accommodating and wouldn’t allow us to rebook for a later time.

Smeetham Hall Barn was always a favourite but at the time we had overlooked this as my sister had been married there the year before. However, Bridget made contact, understood our situation and between her and Sally from Splinters they really saved the day. We were able to have the date exactly a year on and my goodness, the flexibility, the support and the package they offered was just incredible!

Bridget and Sophie at Smeetham were always so flexible, payment deadlines delayed and were always so relaxed and accommodating - exactly what every panicking bride needs. Ten days before, restrictions around weddings lifted to a certain degree. But we were required to cut some numbers, but even then, Sophie and Bridget were on the end of the phone and email, even allowed us to push in a few extra guests and navigate what the ever changes ‘rules’ meant for us and they really took the stress away.

We then come to the day before, dressing and decorating the stunning, stunning barn. Sophie and Bridget were there on hand to help, to ensure we had all we needed to get the barn dressed and ready.

Our wedding was utterly perfect, the day itself was a dream, the venue is stunning and we utilised the space and my dreams all came together. The sun shone and our photographer (Pengelly) a regular at the venue, knew every spot and the photos are breath taking. The day and night went past in a blur, but the whole team working at the barn that day went over and above in their service. So many members of our friends and family commented on how amazing you all were. Even when we were off having photos, Sally, Sophie and the team were there ensuring Olly and I were ok and with a drink.

Now our engagement has been quite the journey but you have all been AMAZING! Our day was perfect and something we will continue to talk about for a long time to come. I can’t recommend SHB and Splinters enough - 5 stars on everything! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!! xxxx

Despite Covid, So Glad We Did!

Bridget - we did it!

Rosalind and I just wanted to send you a huge thank you for making it happen.

After all of the drama from this year, I think we all agreed that just going ahead with a small and intimate family ceremony - originally planned as a summer wedding in July for around 150 guests - was the right decision. We can honestly say, being in the magical barn with all of the decorations, lights and flowers, surrounded by our family was incredible and we absolutely feel that we made the right decision. We are so glad we went ahead with it and will treasure the memories forever.

You and Sophie played a crucial part in getting us to our special day. With countless calls throughout this year, you both remained a positive and reassuring presence in spite of all of the craziness. Your experience of hosting weddings shone through in helping us get everything ready and you managed to keep us calm and working towards our goal despite the fact that we had to change the events of the day multiple times. Sometimes a little bit of humour along the way makes everything easier!

It really felt like a partnership and everyone in the barn played their role in making this day happen.

At the end of the day, marrying your loved one is the most important thing in all of this, and we had the most special day."
