Venue-only Hire
When it comes to weddings, we know that there is no 'one size to fit all' package. Whilst we have developed some great wedding packages, you are also able to hire our venue without any additional extras and simply pay the venue fee.
Whether you are looking for a venue for your wedding reception, civil ceremony or both, Smeetham Hall Barn is sure to be the perfect place for hosting your magical day.
What’s Included in Wedding Venue-Only Hire?
The venue fee will secure the beautiful 16th Century Barn for your wedding ceremony and reception, or just the reception if you plan to marry elsewhere. This fee will include VAT, heating costs and all necessary chairs and tables.

A booking/administration fee of £1,500 is required to confirm a booking.
A "No Corkage" Wedding Venue in the Beautiful Essex Countryside
Not only do our wedding hire charges offer great value, we also do not charge a corkage fee. You can bring in your own drinks – including bottled beers and we will not charge you a fee to do so.
Making Your Big Day Yours
By booking our wedding venue hire only, you can tailor all elements of your wedding to you as a couple. You are free to choose one caterer from our list and your own choice of musicians, DJ, photographer, videographer and decorations. If you need any advice Victoria or Sophie will be on hand to help. Venue Set-up Timings
Saturdays – access from 9am Friday to midday Sunday
This means that every couple has plenty of time to set-up and enjoy every single moment of the build-up to their big day.
