Standing within the grounds of Smeetham Hall, in a sheltered courtyard and adjoining the barn, is our silk lined 800 sq ft marquee.

The marquee can hold up to 150 guests and is an ideal reception area for drinks and canapés. If you choose a civil wedding, which is held in the Barn, you walk down the aisle and straight through to the marquee where the caterers are waiting to serve you and your guests the drinks that you have supplied. If you have chosen a Church wedding, then the bridal party drive around to the French doors of the marquee where, again, the caterers are waiting for you.

The courtyard is perfect for barbecues, hog roasts and the more informal event. Enjoy a string quartet playing throughout your reception.

In the evening, the marquee becomes a quieter area where, if they so choose, guests can sit quietly and chat - away from the band or d.j. in the barn.

Both the barn and the marquee are heated to ensure the temperature is perfect.
